Job Responsibilities and Requirements: A leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care. It is the only campus in the 10-campus UC system dedicated exclusively to the health sciences. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area with a major in a related field and five years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Marketing, communications, and/or publicity) Expert knowledge and understanding of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applications Expert knowledge and understanding of technical applications to direct professional technical staff, or personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applications Highly developed skills to create, develop, and implement long and short term strategic communication plans Highly developed skills to advise and consult management on all aspects of communications, ranging from developing effective communication strategies to appropriately responding to inquiries regarding sensitive or complex issues or information Advanced skills to advise and consult management on all aspects of communications, ranging from developing effective communication strategies to appropriately respond to inquiries regarding sensitive or complex issues and information Experience in website development and/or design and Knowledge of trends in social media marketing Experience working on diversity and/or outreach related events and communications Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills Excellent analytical, critical thinking, project management, and problem recognition, avoidance, and resolution skills Project Management: ability to develop and maintain production methodologies, processes and approval/decision making protocols for print and media projects to ensure efficiency and accuracy of final products Ability to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Note: Fingerprinting and background check required. Preferred Qualifications Master s degree in related area (Communications, Marketing, etc.) Expert knowledge of the organization, including its mission, vision, goals, policies, and infrastructure; strong knowledge of current affairs and issues impacting the University's mission of teaching, research and public service Ability manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of stakeholders Expert knowledge of organization's protocols and channels for communication internally and externally License/Certification n/a.
