Sr. Software Engineer

Seeking a SW Engineer. The candidate will be developing software for the company's jewel crown Catalyst 3K switching platform. The candiate will play a lead role in the architecture, design and development of the IOS-based networking software for company's industry leading Catalyst 2K/3K multi-layer access switches. Will join a team of highly talented and motivated engineers and work in one or more of the following technology areas: Platform infrastructure, High Availability (HA), Stacking, L2/L3 protocol, device drivers, Unified switch Management, application recognition, network access control etc. Will team up with highly talented engineers and get the opportunity to work in SW features that will change the customer experience in terms of how they deploy, configure and Manage their Network. Responsibilities will include working with cross functional team (ASIC, Marketing, HW etc) and design, develop Switching SW, unit testing, supporting the test team by bug analysis and fixing, doing very effective peer design and code review etc. Will work as a part of small highly focused team and participate in support the product development activities and SW releases till FCS. Should have strong background in C programming and debugging. Strong embedded SW development experience required. MSEE/CS combined with 5 years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 7 yrs related experience required. Having exposure in one of the following areas will be a plus: 1. Layer 2 / Layer 3 protocol ; 2. Platform/Infrastructure work and board bring up; 3. Link level encryption, Security protocol; 4. HA 5. Control path design and implementation for multi processor systems; 6. Working in ASIC/FPGA driver.
