Job Responsibilities and Requirements: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Drives the design and implementation of new BI solutions. Leads small to medium sized projects or initiatives. Leads and facilitates meetings and design sessions to gather requirements with customers and team members and develops work plans to achieve objectives. Understands the business/clinical strategy of a particular function/area and proactively works with internal/external team(s) to define necessary information needed to drive improvement. Regularly Gemba walks with key customers to learn how they use information and makes recommendations for reporting process improvements. Influences business leadership and management decisions and drives ownership and acceptance of change to the business. Works with BI developer(s) to create information solutions based on business, clinical or project requirements including dashboards, graphs, charts, trends and other advanced visualizations. Understands the common sources of data within the healthcare system, the data structures of each data source, and relationships between sources. Effectively develops reports/applications using appropriate BI Analyst tools such as QlikSense, and WebI. Uses visualization techniques to express information in a way that is understandable to the customer. Facilitates data governance activities working with stakeholders to define sources, standard metrics and definitions. Reviews multiple data sets looking at correlating factors and relationships between data. Uses standard data analysis techniques such as descriptive statistics, trend analysis and correlation to effectively interpret. Works with operational leadership to finds data discrepancies and identify issues. Works with team to optimizes data quality and transparency. Develops appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing and presenting data and information. Researches new data sources and analytical tools. Trains and mentors other analysts. Develops and follows department and team standard work(s). Exhibits excellence in customer service through appropriate attitude and interaction with all patients, visitors and staff. Adheres to and supports team members in exhibiting TMCH values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication. Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards. Performs related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from four-year college or university in accounting, finance, management information systems, or clinical subject, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of data analysis / decision support experience, preferably in a healthcare delivery setting. LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: None Required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of information systems, business/clinical operations, requirements analysis, and assigned core application(s). Skill in assessing needs and determining through documentation what the best approach might be. Skill at problem definition and data collection by establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to prepare detailed written reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, managers, directors, senior leaders and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to apply basic algebraic concepts. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
