Legal Project Management Analyst

Job Responsibilities and Requirements: As an Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring and responding to requests initiated for project management support. This includes the development of financial reports, Key Performance Indicator (KIP) dashboards, budget templates, client reporting templates, task code reports, and general matter maintenance. The Analyst will also summarize large volumes of data in executive summary reports, develop financial models, provide billing summaries, and deliver analytical support to partners, Finance and Accounting department management, and other department managers as requested, while accomplishing these and other critical functions: Retrieving routine financial information from firm financial systems pertaining to client project performance and creating reports for management and attorneys to review. Handling basic and routine requests regarding client billing history, inventory balances, timekeeper statistics, and rate comparisons. Performing data integrity and report accuracy checks as requested and partnering with the Technology department to identify areas for improvement. Preparing recurring reports related to client statistics and firm financial metrics. Assisting the team with report and workflow documentation. Maintaining detailed records documenting procedures and assumptions, methodologies and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks. Preparing ad-hoc financial analysis related to client statistics and firm financial metrics. Assisting team with administrative tasks pertaining to process efficiency, documentation, data entry, cross-training, and project tracking. Completing special projects on various issues as directed by management. As a Legal Project Management Analyst, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Legal Project Management Analyst must have excellent numerical analytical skills, well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The Legal Project Management Analyst must have the ability to work independently to research, analyze, and develop financial information, as well as possess general knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles and terminology. The Analyst must also have general knowledge of project management principles and terminology, including scope definition, risk & opportunity tracking, phase and milestone planning, and fee arrangements. Moderate Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills are required. Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Visual Basic & SQL, and Elite 3E is a plus. Knowledge of reporting applications, including SAP Business Objects, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and QlikView is also a plus. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or related fields, is required. 1-2 years of analytical experience in finance, accounting, or project management is desired. Experience responding to ad-hoc requests, developing analysis, and producing reports is also desired. Prior experience managing costs, fees, and budgets is required, and previous experience in a customer-focused position is a plus. Occasional travel is required.
