Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Responsibilities: Directs the global accounting policies (IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and Statutory) for the enterprise Oversees the internal controls framework for the enterprise (control identification and evaluation, testing, assessment of deficiencies, etc.) Directs teams responsible for partnering with business units and Corporate departments on accounting policy and controls needs. Develops and maintains a high performance and technically proficient accounting team. Point person for all accounting-related tasks associated with strategic initiatives (M&A, divestitures, financing, etc.) Coordinates engagement of external auditors Coordinates efforts with trade groups, regulatory bodies (e.g., FIO, state departments), and other external stakeholders Qualifications: Demonstrated general management skills and leadership ability; in-depth understanding of generally accepted and insurance accounting principles as well as insurance industry operations; knowledge of actuarial techniques, underwriting principles, payment plans, strategic planning, and marketing principles; fully effective interpersonal skills; excellent writing skills for clear, concise, technically-oriented documents, as typically acquired through an advanced degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting and at least ten years of experience, including at least six of which is in the property-casualty insurance industry.
