Market Risk Reporting Analyst

Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Position Summary Using independent market analysis and routine interaction with front office trading team, develop intuitive knowledge of market risk position and incremental impact of new transactions on daily basis. Perform credit/collateral optimization on portfolio level to determine optimal use of credit lines, cleared vs. OTC credit arrangements and Dodd Frank impacts and propose strategies including trade execution and novation. Develop stress test and other scenario analysis to forecast deal related credit exposures and margin requirements. Coordinate review and approval of credit optimization plan across functional groups. Essential Responsibilities Calculate and analyze daily risk report valuations including value at risk, stop loss, portfolio position and credit exposures and assess validity of values given knowledge of portfolio and market changes. Develop opinions on market and credit risk values and present views to senior management during structured deal review process. Develop stress testing, scenario analysis and reporting process for expected exposure values to include margin calls and expected margin requirements. Proactively identify material report discrepancies if any. Coordinate across functional groups to develop and implement plan to correct official risk reports. Coordinate with valuation strategists and quantitative system strategists to develop and implement reliable, efficient and timely risk reporting tools. Understand, analyze and quantify market and credit value/risk propositions for structured deal pricing including offering opinions on improving deal structures to enhance portfolio value. Coordinate with valuation strategists to correct gaps and errors discovered through daily, monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis process. Coordinate with senior management, commercial management and control leadership to ensure official risk limit structure aligns with business growth goals and risk tolerance limits. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative discipline such as engineering, mathematics, physics, quantitative analysis, finance, economics or a related discipline. At least 3 years of experience in quantitative risk and/or market analysis in the energy industries or equivalent experience. Knowledge of energy trading terminology, commodity markets and the analytical and statistical methods required to evaluate those markets. Demonstrated ability to manage projects involving small teams. Analytical understanding of the nature of information, making a thorough evaluation and recommending appropriate courses of action. Excellent verbal, presentation and written skills. Expected to work with minimal oversight in fast paced, open trade floor environment. Preferred Graduate degree Extensive experience with Excel VBA. SAS, Python and/or MATLAB strongly preferred.
