Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Role The Lead Software Engineer will be the first member of a development team focused on defining and building solutions to improve health outcomes for babies and mothers. You will work closely with the Product and Design teams, as well as additional internal engineering resources, to drive and implement user-centric digital solutions. You will also interface cross-functionally with Marketing, Consumer Products, and Program Management to guide, develop, and scale solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about building solutions that deliver against real user needs and wants to play a key role in leading product development for mothers and children. Computer Science fundamentals in design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis 5 years of Software Engineering experience 3 years leading development teams Experience across the full stack o Experience with two or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C , C#, Objective C, Python, Ruby or Go o Experience with the fundamentals of web development: HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery Demonstrated rigor in software engineering best practices: source control management, testing, operations, build processes, coding standards and code reviews Experience translating requirements for an entire project into development specs and effort estimates Experience with building, delivering and scaling distributed systems Great oral and written communication skills Puts the user and product first Mobile development experience Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications: Passion for healthcare and health technology Experience in both large corporate and small startup environments Interest in and ability to learn other coding languages as needed Contributions to open source projects.
