Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This role is primarily focused on bittern related production and operations. The operating activity is primarily in an outdoor setting, with the use of heavy equipment and processing facilities to manage solid materials and produce liquid bittern product. Activities will include cost center management, use of contractors, salaried and union labor management, and collaboration with other functions including quality assurance, environmental health and safety, finance, supply chain, transportation, and procurement. Principal Accountabilities 60% With minimal oversight, manages operational activities with post-NaCl solar salt processes. Includes the refinement, implementation, and daily department management of bittern ponds and liquid bittern production. Scheduling, budgeting, project or production planning, asset maintenance/ownership, personnel safety and environmental/regulatory compliance. The bittern superintendent will have direct operational responsibilities with the solid salts and will manage a bittern supervisor who directly manages the liquid bittern production activities. 20% Insures execution of processes that achieve desired plant and BU strategy, goals and results; including but not limited to EHS, Reliability Excellence, Quality Assurance, resource efficiency, and cost improvements. 20% Leadership and supervision of Bittern Supervisor and associated operational responsibilities, including storage, mixing, loading, and maintenance. Required Qualifications 4 year Engineering degree or 10 years of relevant experience 3 years demonstrated experience in operations and/or project or construction management Experience in developing, executing and managing multiple successful processes Models skilled problem solving techniques Communication skills: Influencing skills, team facilitation skills Previous experience within a Project Team consisting of interactions with/direct input from interested stakeholders Working knowledge of transporting, handling and moving of bulk materials Technically competent with Microsoft tools: Excel, Word, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Explorer Ability to travel ~5% Sedentary work with computer/at desk for longer periods of time. Climbing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Feeling, Talking in an industrial plant/outdoor operations setting Preferred Qualifications Proficient with Spanish language 3 years supervisory experience, preferably in operating heavy equipment Completion of PPM, PMI Project Manager Certification, or Managing Projects at Cargill course.
