Construction Services Design Manager

Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The DM will be responsible for managing all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, positioning, programming, design, and engineering services during construction. This person will also be responsible for performing conceptual engineering analysis for multiple scenarios that can include high level schedule and/or budget development to help customers and stakeholders make critical business decisions based on time and cost constraints. The Design Manager DM will proactively seek out and coordinate all technical and business information required from the numerous customers and stakeholders and transform into a scope of work used to set the baseline program cost and schedule. Effective scope change management to support highly dynamic manufacturing technology requirements and volumes is required. The DM will own development of effective design deliverables to support all aspects of construction and must be able to develop and implement innovative engineering and design methodologies to support very aggressive program and construction schedules. Development of the Requests For Proposals RFPs for all external consultants and contract work required to develop the required engineering and design deliverables will be owned by the DM. Implementing effective safety by design practices will be key. The Design manager will own management of all external contract workforce resources contracted to develop the required engineering and design deliverables. This person will need to effectively interact with several internal engineering organizations to influence design standards, construction specifications, and operations requirements to ensure these enable construction to meet its success metrics. The DM will be responsible for a matrix team of senior engineers, site construction engineering, and an extended team made up of several independent internal organizations, as well as management of all outsourced technical resources required to perform the engineering and design. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Controls. 10 years experience with systems designs, 9 years experience with construction, startup, and turnover of facilities process systems. 9 years' Experience with semi-conductor industry or other clean environment industries ex. pharmaceutical, solar panel manufacturing 5 years experience leading multi-discipline engineering teams. Strong technical expertise in core engineering discipline and ability to provide tactical direction to a large engineering team, both direct and matrix report This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Controls.
