Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This position will be responsible for making sure is capturing the value for the IP we create. You will be held accountable for writing patent disclosures, managing input from technologists across the company, and for being up to date on IP advances in our field. You will have frequent contact with our outside IP council, and you will be responsible for IP creation budget. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high standards and good judgment. In addition, our organization values individuals who can lead by example and keep focus in a team-centered environment. Responsibilities - Author patent disclosures, as an individual and as a leader to a group of inventors - Create the schedule for IP disclosure creation and keep the team aligned - Identify potential IP during design reviews and technical discussions - Expand and control our internal IP database and stage gate procedure - Combine disclosures to craft omnibus PPAs - Collaborate with engineering and other disciplines to develop future generations of growing equipment - Remain up-to-date on developments and interests in the indoor ag market We have: - An incredible change-the-world' company with the eyes of the world focused on our success - A team of motivated, intellectually curious individuals to support you - The backing of some seriously impressive firms including Goldman Sachs, Prudential and other leading venture funds. You have: - Experience as a patent author, with at least 5 patent applications or as an IP coordinator where you organized the work on at least 10 patent applications. - A portfolio of examples of the prosecution of your patents. - Experience coaching technologists to explain and develop new ideas - BS in Engineering or a biological science You may also have: - Patents in the area of food science, plant growing systems, equipment groups costing.
