Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The ideal candidate will have had experience in the high paced energy of startups as well as experience in the structured world of larger companies. The success candidate will be able to successfully partner with internal and external partners to fully administer all DevOps systems under heavy usages from multiple teams across Macys.com while providing the necessary leadership to deliver releases on time and on budget. Essential Functions: Manage a team of highly skilled DevOps engineers. Collaborate with DEV, QA, OPS, Site Support, and Infrastructure teams to maintain high-quality deployment artifacts as it moves through the delivery pipeline. Own development team s tools, processes, and quality / performance of the work produced by the team. Champion Test-Driven Development, Acceptance-Test-Driven Development, and Agile best-practices, processes, and tools in support of DevOps processes. Work with Technical Leads, Software architects and quality assurance engineers to resolve development roadblocks. Maintain strategic relationships with key teams. Report critical issues to management effectively, timely, and with clarity. Hands-on system design and development as needed. Hands-on mentoring of the team. Consistently demonstrates regular, dependable attendance & punctuality. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education/Experience: BS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 5 years professional experience or MS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 3 years professional experience. 5 years of experience working on various DevOps initiatives. 3 years of experience with Configuration Management tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc. 3 years of experience with cloud computing solutions such as Google Compute Engine, Rackspace, MicrosoftAzure, AWS. 3 years of experience with various scripting and programming languages such as Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Jython, Ruby, JSON, Java etc. 3 years of experience with Continuous Integration and Cloud Computing desirable Comfortable with basic Unix/Linux skills. Experience with working with multiple Operating systems and devices is a big plus Experience with various scripting and programming languages such as Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Ruby, JSON, Java, REST services Broad exposure to Open Source tools to include automation, security, networking and database. Big plus if you are an active open source community contributor High-level understanding of software systems design and technical concepts Experience working with in Log Analytics and Monitoring tools. High-level understanding of software systems design and technical concepts. Understanding of various SDLC methodologies particularly Agile. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to peers and external vendors.
