Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Practice Lead will have the opportunity to work closely with economists, market analysts, bank examiners, risk analysts, and data analysts around the Bank. The Practice Lead will work as part of a larger strategy and design thinking team, with competencies in data usability, product strategy, data visualization, advanced analytics, and data science. The Practice Lead will integrate user needs, and collaborate with data scientists and technologists to build a core competency around delivery of well designed, consistent, and insightful dashboards, charts and graphs to provide better communication of data that is currently in systems, applications, and individual analytical products. Candidates should possess a clear track record of leading the delivery of multiple parallel projects at a significantly sized agency or corporation. The Practice Lead will have responsibility to build a repository of knowledge and skills around strategic Bank platforms while also finding and applying new tools and techniques that will enhance the team s ability to meet its goal of delivering insight into data. The Practice Lead will be responsible for use case discovery and client engagement across businesses and will manage the analytical project lifecycle from initial concept through iteration and final delivery. Responsibilities: In this role you will: Provide strategic direction, thought leadership, best practices, and standards required to deliver effective solutions to clients. Collaborate and partner across businesses and different levels of the organization to develop a premier data visualization practice that leverages the grassroots innovations within businesses. Lead the creation of dashboards and visualizations to produce insights to complex data in ways that assist in translating organizational challenges into actionable decision making practices. Work with staff in the DCO and businesses to apply design and data analysis techniques to organize the presentation of data in visually innovative ways to make it easier to understand. Translate engagement objectives to a project plan with milestones, and resource/technology requirements, and teach, lead, and manage projects to successful execution. Translate advanced business analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations, in diverse domains such as risk management, product development, marketing research, and public policy; communicate results and educate others through insightful visualizations, reports and presentations. Lead the creation of, and manage repository of re-usable data visualization standards and templates that will be used across the Bank Lead the practice in designing and creating visualizations of artificial intelligence work-products. Engage with technologists to create and deliver a full-service operating model for data analytic work-products. Supervisory responsibility Yes Qualifications Bachelor s degree in a quantitative field or quantitatively driven social field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Marketing Analytics, Data Visualization, Psychology, Political Science, or Sociology. 10 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in business analytics. Advanced knowledge in visual design supported by formal training and/or education Significant experience with Tableau, or Spotfire, or D3. Significant experience in Lean and Agile methodologies. Advanced knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write stored procedures, triggers, analytic/windowing functions, and tuning. Demonstrable proficiency with one or more programming languages (e.g, Python). Experience collaborating with data scientists. Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfortable presenting and interacting with staff from junior level to senior management. Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences. Highly self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Must be informed about industry topics and trends in-the-headlines and can articulate and defend his/her point-of-view about them. Develop formal, written, points of view on a variety of strategic subject matter. Collaborative working style, willingness to flex roles and responsibilities when needed to support larger team goals and outcomes. Experience with the Financial Services Industry and regulatory requirements a plus. Experience working with data wrangling tools (e.g., Alteryx) a plus. Experience in UX design a plus.
