Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This individual will contribute to the success of the team by completing tasks that include but are not limited to the following: Reviews all docketing of incoming U.S. and foreign correspondence and patent mail. Maintains the docket database by recording and updating docket deadlines and filing information. Communicates with attorneys, patent paralegals, foreign filing specialist and patent prosecution assistants to gather additional information as needed. Works to ensure the integrity and maintenance of the docket database and resolves issues related to the docket database. Acts as a resource to attorneys, patent paralegals, foreign filing specialists and patent prosecution assistants by providing docketing guidance and expertise. Reviews and processes new and transferred patent files for intake to the Firm, including entering new cases into the docket database and will also review and prepare patent files for transfer out of the Firm. Generates and reviews a variety of reports for prosecution matters. Assists attorneys, patent paralegals, foreign filing specialist and patent prosecution assistants with docketing projects as needed. Assists with training and support of other docketing specialists as needed. Compiles subject conflict check emails to attorneys daily. Required Skills At least 3 years experience in IP docketing is preferred. Substantive knowledge of US and foreign docketing laws and requirements is preferred. Must have the aptitude to learn specific procedures and processes relating to the Intellectual Property field in general and patent law in particular. Proficiency in Windows based software applications including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; document management systems; and automated docketing systems is required. Excellent organizational and general administrative skills are required. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. Must display strong attention to detail and be able to manage multiple priorities and competing demands. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team while interacting with all levels of Firm personnel. The ideal candidate will be a client driven team player with strong customer service orientation.
