Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Duties: Design, engineer, and build data platform solutions using Big Data Technologies, and deploy Big Data Analytics Applications to the Cloud. Establish a Reference Architecture for Big Data, and design architectural processes and procedures. Establish and communicate fit-for-purpose analytical platforms for business prototypes, and explore, investigate, recommend, benchmark, and implement data-centric technologies for the platforms. Participate in coding. Implement data modeling and disk encryption. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues faced by production operations and data operations teams. Write technical documentation. Assist end users with performance tuning. Interface with vendors. Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered five (5) years of experience as Software Engineer/Developer, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills: software development in an Agile environment; component and distributed systems architecture; programming languages that support component and distributed systems architecture, including Java, j2ee, Scala, R, Python, HTML, and XML; Big Data components, vendors, and technologies including Hadoop, Greenplum, Tableau, Gemfire, and low latency solutions (networking and disk); Hortonworks or Cloudera; system programming; computing infrastructure (servers, network, and operating systems) for large-scale data processing (BigData and Massive Parallel Processing[MPP]); SAS-VIYA Machine learning tool; Splunk log analysis; SAS 9.4; and SAS EM.
