Job Responsibilities and Requirements: RESPONSIBILITIES Provides constructability input during gated Front-End Loading (Appraise, Select and Define stages). Reviews proposed designs to advise on constructability issues with adverse impact. Works with project engineers and planners to define specifications of construction work packages and produce resource-loaded project schedules. Performs on-site field assessments to validate requirements. Works with Procurement to identify and obtain resources (equipment, materials and contractors). Reviews contractors credentials in established qualification process. Supports material receiving through inspection. Conducts projects safety meetings with on-site supervisors and labor force for all construction jobs. Ensures adherence to safety requirements through field audits. Inspects work in progress to assure construction and installation of facilities and equipment are in accordance with approved detailed design and engineering standards. Monitors and controls project performance to ensure quality, cost and time targets are achieved. Manages staff. Initiates selection, promotion and corrective actions when appropriate. Accountable for fair and uniform application of personnel policies. Ensures construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, economically and in compliance with drawings and specifications. Conducts productivity analysis to identify and resolve critical variances so project can achieve established objectives. Maintains accurate and current project documentation necessary to archive and closeout project. As needed provided input to start-up manuals, operating and emergency response procedures, training materials, etc. Must have physical ability to perform all essential job duties, work extended hours including nights and weekends when necessary. Must be physically able to access all areas of refinery including use of stairs and/or ladders to inspect crucial process and mechanical equipment. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Minimum high school diploma or GED required. Minimum 7 years experience as construction supervisor, foreman or planner in refining or petrochemical industry required.
