Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Job Responsibilities: Oversees the budgeting and financial process. Project hospital-wide departmental volume for budget year for review and update with senior leadership. Develop and instruct department heads concerning budget policies, procedures, forms and timetable. Coordinate and run annual budget meetings with department managers. Assist in preparation of annual budget report including comprehensive pro forma financial statements. Oversees the preparation of timely and accurate financial and management reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Ensures timely preparation of all monthly financial statements, including accurate calculation of statistical information, net revenues, expense and accruals. Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the organization, communicate same and make specific recommendations for cost reductions and/or profit improvements. Provides advice and assistance to department heads and managers in analyzing and interpreting financial data and reports and in presenting that information to departments. Demonstrates effectiveness in preparing all required information to compare revenue and expenses and determine the facility's actual financial position. Provide financial analysis to evaluate special projects, capital expenditures and product costing when necessary. Use decision support system to complete ad-hoc analyses Provide a leadership role on behalf of Finance to all departments to help meet the organization's financial goals. Manage the accuracy and productivity of the day to day activities of accounts payable, accounting and financial planning and analysis. Implements Corporate accounting policies to comply with generally accepted accounting principles, tax requirements and management reporting requirements. Consistently demonstrates the ability to establish appropriate departmental priorities. Consistently completes all assignments in a timely manner, thorough and appropriately detailed. Effectively maintains all required records for the department, demonstrates good organizational skills. Supervises, mentors and directs finance staff, providing appropriate oversight and review of work performed. Monitors the implementation and evaluation of internal controls to continually evaluate accounting practices, reporting procedures and record keeping. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field. A CPA and/or MBA preferred. Must have a minimum of 5 (five) years recent hospital finance experience. Excellent computer knowledge of accounting software packages; Excel and Meditech applications required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with department heads, hospital and corporate senior leadership, peers and subordinates in a respectful and professional manner required.
