Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This position supports the Director with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end financial and accounting operations. Required Skills Performs analytical finance functions; budget and forecasting scenarios; reconciliations and related analysis. Administers budgets and maintain the Department s P&L. Analyzes and monitors revenue and expenditures for assigned department budgets. Works with different types of data including billings, revenues, costs, inventory and end-user data, and summarizes key information for management team. Assists with ad-hoc data analysis, data mining and reporting. Develops finance dashboard using Tableau. Creates financial data models collaboratively with enrollment team. Follows best practices and analytical strategy as defined by the Manager of Strategic Research for Marketing & Recruitment. Develops and maintains robust and scalable reporting processes that enables key business owners to make informed, data-driven decisions. Creates comparative financials that offer insight on high-level financials for a variety of stakeholders. Prepares monthly reports and analysis of revenue and expense activity. Create visual representation of data that for various stakeholders. Accounting and Financial Operations Maintains Chart of Accounts. Prepare invoices for general ledger coding and ensures they are submitted to accounting in a timely fashion. Handles all billing discrepancies and payment related inquiries from vendors. Creates check requests for travel reimbursements, royalty advances, and development fees. Creates purchasing requisitions within the college s financial system. Responsible for purchasing all Capital Equipment and maintaining Department Fixed Assets and coordinating with the college Property Records Analyst. Supports all aspects of the college purchasing card program for all Berklee Online internal cardholders. Includes compiling cardholder statements, receipt collection, and coordination with the college accounting office. Responsible for maintaining and reconciling all ecommerce activity throughout the entire workflow from customer payment, through various merchant processors, to cash deposits. Posts cash receipts to receivables including student accounts Generates invoices for various revenue streams. Analyzes and prepares monthly year-end journal entries, and accruals including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and cost of sales activity. Maintains customized computerized legacy systems, and reconciles general ledger activity with College ERP Prepares monthly accounting and financial schedules for revenues and balance sheet detail. Supports the Director with internal and external audits as needed. Runs the bi-annual royalty statement process Assists the finance team during high volume times with all student account related inquiries. Maintains a standard of superior service to all customers, fosters and maintains positive relationships and works collaboratively with faculty, staff and students. Is subject matter expert in ecommerce transactional processing. Experience with Authorize.net, Wells Fargo Merchant Services, and PayPal a plus. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Experience Bachelor s Degree and 7-10 years of related experience. CPA and or MBA a plus. Demonstrated experience in the development and analysis of financial information in a college or other similar nonprofit organization preferred. Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools preferred. . Strong computer and database skills, including demonstrated experience in spreadsheet and analytical software applicable to financial reporting. Experience with Colleague/Datatel, Workday Financials, and Salesforce is preferred. Understanding of Business Intelligence Industry and trends. Knowledge of Higher Educational KPIs preferred. Proven ability to research and analyze financial information, demonstrated skill and ability in report development and programming, and the ability to convey concepts clearly using appropriate data reporting and visualization techniques. Distinctive problem-solving skills and strong interest in data/analytics. Advanced knowledge of data modeling and ranking tools is required, as is the ability to manage detailed and accurate reports. Excellent written and verbal communication as well as organizational skills. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency with Word, and Excellent Excel skills including knowledge of pivot tables, micros, V-lookups, required. Ability to meet or exceed established deadlines in a high-change, fast-paced environment. Extremely organized and detail oriented. Must be a self-starter, proactive, and completes assignments with minimal direction. Team player with the willingness and desire to learn and grow within the organization.
