Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The incumbent is responsible for leading, enhancing, and overseeing the Santander US Privacy Program; developing policies and procedures to promote and confirm compliance with federal and state privacy laws and regulations (e.g. GLBA, FCRA, FACTA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, etc.) and industry best practices; as well as providing on-going guidance on Privacy issues. Establish procedures for security breaches involving non-public customer information and ensure all necessary notifications to customers and regulatory authorities are made. Monitor ongoing state and federal legislation and industry trends to ensure a competitive Privacy Program. Responsible for ongoing breach/incident trend reporting to senior management committees and the annual submission of the Privacy Policy Manual to various management committees. Develop and implement a corporate-wide Privacy training program in conjunction with Compliance and Human Resources. Evaluate proposed vendors for privacy risk and conduct annual vendor privacy review. Partner with Head of Technology Risk and Information Security to implement robust privacy program. Responsible for oversight of Business Unit operations to ensure compliance with applicable Privacy laws and regulations. Enhance, implement, and operate a comprehensive Privacy Program that is sustainable in a technologically advanced financial marketing, including managing and successfully implementing privacy compliance projects, as well as drafting and evaluating policies and procedures as needed. Qualifications: Ten or more years experience in the Financial Services industry with a Privacy, Compliance, or Legal background. Ability to synthesize information from a wide range of sources. Deep understanding of privacy laws both at federal and state level and how they impact financial institutions. Demonstrated leadership ability in order to influence colleagues at all levels throughout the organization. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven analytical and problem solving skills. Strong management and organizational skills, including ability to prioritize several projects at a time and drive for success.
