Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Responsibilities: The Government Affairs Representative will report to the Managing Director and Head of US Government Affairs. The role s primary responsibility will be to assist in the development and implementation of the government affairs strategy including the monitoring and management of issues, collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop policy positions, representing the banks views in various forums, and leading the bank s engagement with external stakeholders and partners. The scope of the Government Affairs Representative role would cover, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities: Supporting the Head of DC Government Affairs to develop and execute a Congressional and Regulatory Agency public policy strategy; Developing relationships and maintaining regular communications with partners and stakeholders in the DC ecosystem (policymakers, trade associations, industry participants, thought leaders, etc.); Providing surveillance and monitoring of proposals of new US regulation and legislation applicable to the activities of the bank; Providing insight, advice and reporting to internal stakeholders on trends and developments in Washington DC; Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop policy goals and appropriate positioning; Utilizing specialized process knowledge and problem solving skills to quickly identify potential challenges and to develop design and implement strategies to achieve best outcomes. The hire will develop close partnerships and work in cooperation with: US Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs Group Public and Regulatory Policy and especially prudential affairs to assess potential extraterritorial impacts and carry out comparative works on EU vs US regulations; and North American Local and global business lines and functions (e.g. CIB, Bank of the West, Legal, Compliance, and Finance) Minimum Required Qualifications 5 years of professional experience, in the private sector or government, with demonstrable public policy experience 5 years of experience working with banking and securities industries, laws, regulations and policy Bachelor s degree required 5 years of experience working in Word, Excel and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications: JD or Master or equivalent degree in Public Policy, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or other related field of study preferred Strong communication abilities (writing, speaking and presentation) required. Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and to works as part of a team; Knowledge of and adherence to applicable ethics rules FINRA Registrations.
