Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Essential Duties & Responsibilities Supervise monthly close processes and perform analysis of financial results (e.g. review journal entries, account reconciliations, and analytics) Prepare quarterly/annual statutory and/or GAAP financial statements, footnote support, and exhibits in compliance with SEC, FASB, IASB, NAIC and other regulatory requirements Prepare schedules and perform controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Ensure compensation and benefit expenses are recorded and reported appropriately Deliver expense projections to FP&A and leadership, and communicate drivers of expense movement and variances to plan Liaise with internal and external auditors and provide necessary support Identify and execute process improvement projects Participate in determining proper accounting treatment for complex transactions Provide developmental feedback and act as resource for preparers May perform additional duties as assigned. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Basic knowledge and ability to understand accounting for equity compensation and post-retirement benefit plans in accordance with plan documents and applicable accounting guidance General knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other processing systems and applications Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects effectively Ability to exercise professional judgement and make recommendations to management regarding accounting and operational decisions Ability to understand downstream impacts and think holistically about processes and deliverables Ability to manage multiple deadlines and turn around ad hoc requests quickly Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels and across functional areas Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to break down complex problems and drive to resolution Effective verbal and written communication skills Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting or finance Typically a minimum of five years of work experience in accounting/finance related role CPA or CPA eligible preferred Public accounting experience a plus.
