Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Legal Managed Services is seeking a Patent Attorney or Patent Agent to provide crucial support in our client s nutrition and health business, focusing in the areas of food ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients. This is a tremendous long-term temporary opportunity for candidates who meet the qualifications listed below Duties & Responsibilities U.S. patent drafting, as well as U.S. and foreign patent prosecution Patent administrative proceedings IP portfolio strategy Invention development, and inventor education Patentability Landscape analysis Freedom-to-Operate Evaluations Qualifications Must hold an advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., or J.D.) and have a strong background in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry or related technical field highly desired Must have a minimum 5 years experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the fields of polymer chemistry and/or pharmaceutical formulations Must be a registered U.S. Patent Professional Must have outstanding writing skills as demonstrated by original writing samples of patent applications, prosecution submissions, and other communications Experience working with foreign associates to assist and coordinate filing and prosecution of international patent matters Ability to connect scientific details of research projects with patentability considerations Experience developing and implementing IP strategies, assisting with freedom-to-operate analyses, and IP portfolio analyses Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal direction Post-graduate R&D laboratory experience for 2 or more years Experience working with business and technical teams to develop IP strategies for technical programs Candidates should send a resume in Word format highlighting their qualifications for the requirements listed above for immediate consideration.
