Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Vice President, General Tax Officer and Tax Counsel (collectively, Tax VP ) is a key member of the corporate team and is responsible for leading all aspects of the company s tax operations including: tax provisions, compliance, audits, planning, M&A structuring/due diligence, acquisition purchase price allocations and legal entity restructurings. The Tax VP is responsible for managing seven highly skilled tax professionals in the corporate tax department. The Tax VP reports to the Senior Vice President and CFO of the corporation. Reporting to the Tax VP are three tax directors, two senior tax managers, two tax managers and one administrative assistant. Third-party contractors are employed as needed. Qualifications Include: Twenty or more years working with progressively more challenging tax issues/responsibilities. Strong relationships and experience working with global tax professionals. Must possess the necessary technical skills - including federal, state, local and international tax knowledge - to be able to work with the specialists and make ultimate decisions on strategy, compliance, etc. Demonstrated leadership and management skills. Ability to work both strategically and tactically planning for the future while executing the day-to-day activities. Proven ability to attract and develop top tax professionals. Significant experience in a highly acquisitive business environment. Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills. Able to relate effectively with the Board of Advisors and all levels of the organization, presenting complicated tax matters in a way that relates the important points to the relevant audience. Possesses excellent relationship building skills with a strong orientation to serve as a team player at all levels within the organization. Strong negotiating skills. Graduate tax/accounting/law degree.
