Content Strategist

Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Duties: Work directly with clients to understand their long-term vision for their digital presence and translate it into strategy, content and workflows. Conduct in-depth discovery to understand audience or marketplace needs and preferences (e.g. via surveys, interviews, workshops, social listening), review website performance and search, and perform website analysis through content inventories or audits to assess existing content and identify new content types. Distill key insights into client-facing presentations or briefs that detail technical requirements, journey maps, user personas or stories. Define the essential information that must be part of each content type, both fields and related content elements that should be pulled in dynamically. Define taxonomy vocabularies and terms, map legacy terms to new terms, and specify how taxonomy should be used by users to filter content. Lead or contribute to sketch sessions and wireframes to convey key elements of content, functionality and page structure. Develop content strategy (including keyword research and SEO) and content development plans that consider the client s full range of available communication platforms or channels. Plan and direct content migrations by demonstrating how existing content will map to new content types and positions within the information architecture, migrate pages alongside other members of the project team, and perform migration QA using both manual and automated techniques (training in automated techniques provided). Define key performance indicators (KPIs), configure website analytics (i.e. Google Tag Manager) and evaluate digital performance through analysis and reporting. Create client-facing deliverables including workflow/governance documents, content management training guides, taxonomy documentation and content migration plans. Draft website content and/or associated marketing assets for launch. Analyze website or campaign performance, evolving mission and user needs to recommend content and/or functionality enhancements and assist with implementation. Serve as a content subject matter expert throughout the lifecycle of the project. Qualifications: 3 years professional experience with web development, user experience 3 design or content strategy Experience working with developers to create functional specifications for content types Understanding of user experience principles Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and prioritize tasks appropriately Ability to work both independently and with project teams Bachelor s degree and U.S. citizenship required Preferred: Understanding of Drupal site building, particularly content types and views, and/or of WordPress post types and configuration Preferred: Experience working on websites with 3,000 pages.
