Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess familiarity with current public policy debates to contextualize the development and execution of comprehensive digital strategy for promotion of scholars work to targeted audiences. A successful candidate will also push forward in the use of customer insight and audience targeting tools and data. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter with their on-line application at ***About the Digital Strategy team: Digital Strategy team is a relatively new department at the Institute that promotes our scholars work across a number of channels. Our team is responsible for web properties (e.g., AEI.org), primary social media channels, flagship email newsletters, and general web audience development. We are a small group that works collaboratively both with each other and the research teams across AEI. Role and responsibilities Manages relationships with research teams and scholars with a heavy focus on customer service, building relationships, and persuasion Works collaboratively with design, video, editorial, media, government relations, and other teams to create seamless communications effort, with the goal of getting the right scholars work on the right channels to the right people at the right time Oversees content strategy and delivery across digital channels, including AEI.org, satellite sites, main social media feeds (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Medium), flagship newsletter products ( Today and This Week), Google AdWords, paid advertising, lead generation campaigns, and front-end web development for specific projects In coordination with other stakeholders, drives ability to collect information on and target high-priority audiences via digital channels Manages day-to-day digital editorial calendar for digital channels including social media, newsletters, and Google AdWords in conjunction with news hooks and research products Ensures all digital content is consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone and aligns with values of a competition of ideas, academic freedom, and a better life for all people Identifies and oversees implementation of tools and infrastructure that improve our ability to add value through digital marketing to the research areas and scholars Manages budget and resource allocation for projects, marketing campaigns, and vendors Directly manages staff of up to five Digital Strategy team members plus interns In coordination with chief information officer, assigns website development projects, including bug fixes, WordPress maintenance, old site migrations, and new features to a team of internal developers Reports on inputs, outputs, and impact of digital marketing efforts Runs, assists, advises, or executes other initiatives as required Qualifications and skills: Six years of digital marketing and communications experience preferred Top-notch management, oral and written communication, and relational skills Highly organized and comfortable identifying and anticipating goals and priorities Ability to switch gears quickly to support a changing project load and priorities Flawless management of all phases of projects, including identifying and setting strategy, managing the production of creative, and communicating with stakeholders through execution Innovative, a problem-solver, and extremely accountable to yourself, your team, and scholars Confidant collaborating with team members and scholars Strong command of Google Analytics, AdWords, WordPress, Salesforce, and automated email service providers (Marketo preferred) Experience with SEO tools, social media campaigns, website redesign, and customer insight tools Experience communicating with developers Demonstrated experience managing vendors Experience implementing customer insight, automated marketing, or audience targeting strongly preferred Minimum three years of previous direct supervisory experience Nonprofit, political campaign, or advocacy organization experience preferred.
