Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This responsibility requires a current knowledge of broad financial trends and perspectives, and the active identification, analysis and resolution of emerging and ongoing risks affecting Eleventh District institutions. This position also requires a technical expertise associated with operations of banking organizations and a working knowledge of safety and soundness regulations, as well as general regulatory compliance. Represent the Reserve Bank in meetings with bankers and the public at multiple venues, ranging from individual bank meetings to trade association conferences and other appropriate forums. Engage with senior officials of regulated institutions, especially when dealing with significant risks, enforcement actions and programmatic deficiencies. Serve as a point of escalation for supervisory issues and resolve issues as necessary. Industry Analysis - Provide general oversight of the analysis of financial industry trends. Ensure staff are discovering and articulating key findings to be used by examination staff, Banking Supervision management, research economists, and the president. Work with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors to communicate key findings in the Eleventh District that may be leading indicators of broader financial risk in the banking sector. Serve as sponsor for surveillance activities conducted at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas on behalf of the Board of Governors and Federal Reserve System. Work with all stakeholders to ensure results of surveillance activities is aligned with stakeholder needs. Strategy Development / Execution - As a member of the Department s officer team, contribute to the development of Department strategic goals and objectives. Work with Department management to identify and set tactical initiatives, and author related documentation for communication to all staff. Lead business line planning and ensure accomplishment of goals and objectives for areas of responsibility. Policy & System Leadership - Actively lead or participate on and contribute to Federal Reserve System committees in area of responsibility that are aligned with the Department s strategic objectives. Establish strategy for policy contributions, determine priorities and marshal resources accordingly. Facilitate and foster extensive communication with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors to influence System policy and strategic direction. Represent the Reserve Bank and assume leadership positions at the Federal Reserve System level, including developing, recommending and implementing significant Federal Reserve System initiatives. Leadership / Team Development - Provide general oversight to Supervisory Risk and Surveillance management teams, which includes setting priorities, ensuring accountability, reviewing work products, and facilitating talent management and succession planning. Oversee the skill development and coaching of Supervisory Risk and Surveillance management to ensure continuous enhancement of their confidence, competence and capability in appropriately managing the supervision of district institutions, as well as the development of the organization s talent pipeline. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor s degree in a business-related field required; master s degree preferred Working knowledge of applicable banking laws and regulations; in-depth knowledge of BSA/AML, Safety & Soundness, and Information Technology regulations preferred Minimum of ten years experience in the banking, regulatory, or a similar industry Minimum seven years experience managing and leading management team members and employees Proficiency with business productivity products such as Microsoft Office, groupware (SharePoint), etc. Excellent oral and written communication skills Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted WORK HOURS AND CONDITIONS:8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with flexibility as required; requires upwards to 20% travel year-round.
