Job Responsibilities and Requirements: As part of its mission to ensure the integrity, efficiency and accessibility of the payments system, the Federal Reserve also actively engages a broad array of stakeholders in collaborative efforts to improve and modernize the nation s payment capabilities. To support execution of these roles, the has national responsibility for customer management, product development and marketing, and industry relations. We are seeking a Vice President of Industry Relations to lead engagement, public relations and communication strategy. This leader will work to facilitate collaboration among payment system stakeholders including financial institutions, fintech firms, merchants, consumer interest groups, trade associations and government agencies, with the objective to catalyze development and adoption of improvements to enhance the speed, safety, and efficiency of the U.S. payment system. The role will allow someone to drive an industry relations program in a rapidly evolving industry for a highly respected and professional organization. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Lead payment industry collaboration activities on behalf of the Federal Reserve System by designing engagements, recruiting participants, seeking stakeholder input on work efforts, communicating progress, developing strategies/tactics, and promoting positive outcomes and industry action Develop multi-channel communications strategies (e.g. print, online, digital) to influence and facilitate industry dialogue, garner support, and address known and emerging concerns Sponsor onsite and offsite events such as speaking engagements and feedback forums to ensure broad awareness of Federal Reserve payments system efforts Contribute to the strategic direction of the Federal Reserve payments system initiative and provide leadership to ensure successful execution of strategy Supervise staff by mentoring, motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, holding staff accountable and conducting performance reviews and overseeing professional development Education and Experience 15 plus years of related experience in public relations, marketing, advertising, relationship management, or management consulting Proven experience working and leading teams in a highly complex, geographically diverse, and matrixed organization History of successfully taking on responsibility, delivering results, and implementing large programs and projects Bachelor s Degree or equivalent work experience is required; advanced degree is preferred Knowledge and Skills Familiar with U.S. international payment systems, market activity and trends, emerging technologies, key stakeholders, and the future direction of payment systems Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Strong people leadership skills and ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders Ability to simultaneously lead multiple complex projects with many internal and external stakeholders Ability to analyze complex information and arrive at sound/defensible conclusions, effectively manage/complete open-ended assignments, and make solid business judgments Other Requirements and Physical Requirements 80% travel This document indicates the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this position.
