Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Intellectual Property Counsel will prepare and prosecute patent applications for the Instruments division of Duties include: Working closely with the IP team for the patent protection of new technology, including the preparation of patent applications, amendments, responses to office actions, declarations, and other submissions to patent offices. Interacting with foreign outside counsel on intellectual property matters. Preparing patentability assessments and advising on patent filings. Performing infringement and validity analyses. Assisting with the maintenance of Stryker's intellectual property portfolio and docket. Evaluating, devising and implementing strategies to strengthen the therapeutic area patent portfolio. Supporting the IP Management Team in the development and maintenance of the intellectual property portfolio. Job Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. Juris Doctor degree. Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Minimum of four years of experience with patent prosecution. Member in good standing of at least one state bar. Excellent academic credentials.
