Job Responsibilities and Requirements: We are seeking a Senior Project Estimator to provide conceptual and detailed cost projections, manage the bid process for competitive bid negotiated projects, participate in the supervising and training of assigned estimators, and maintain overall cost control templates and databases. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare project estimates, develop project cost summaries, present and explain results and recommendations. Provide training for Project Estimators, review their work and perform estimate reconciliation. Analyze concepts and schematic designs to prepare estimates. Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized. Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies betwenn estimated and acutal costs. Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts. Organize and lead efforts on competitive bid projects awarded on either lum sum or GMP basis. Qualify and price all trade scopes and assembly estimates using Exel and/or Timberline. Review all estimates and bids with Estimating Manager and Operations assigned Project Executive before submission to clients. Lead estimating efforts on large, multi-phase projects under CMAR, Design-Build, or IPD contract structure. Develop preliminary bid lists and bid posting templates. Review all bidder lists with Estimating Manager. Maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors. Knowledge and Skills Required: Previous experience in estimating and preparing conceptual estimates. High degree of construction knowledge and analytical skill required. Computer experience using Exel and Onscreen. Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field required. Minimum 10 years position related work experience in project estimating or related field required.
