Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Key Duties Evangelizes safety and ensures a transparent and communicative environment. Maintains a high level of employee engagement through personal visibility, accessibility, and involvement that encourages cooperation, trust, and employee engagement. Sets and monitors policies and processes to enable optimal flight operations. Is responsive to pilot issues through continuous communications and feedback. Drives best practices and continuous improvement while constantly focusing on the issues of safety and productivity. Maintains excellent labor relations with the pilot group, as well as collaborative relations with ALPA. Prepares and consolidates the department budget and monitors and controls the department's financial performance. Oversees the recruitment, training and development, and scheduling of pilots. Drives a high performance service culture. Fosters people development and provides training plans that create sustainable and strong succession plans for all key management positions. Champions and ensures best practices and continuous improvement. Job-Specific Skills & Education Required A minimum of 15 years of experience in airline, flight operations, or operations organizations. A minimum 7 years of experience in leadership roles. Meets the requirements of FAR 119.67 for Director of Operations. Experience in training, standards, resource management, operations control, and/or as a Chief Pilot. A natural results-oriented personality with a high degree of confidence, integrity, and high ethical standards. A history of successfully developing and fostering good, productive relations with work groups and labor unions. Solid knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements and experience dealing with regulatory agencies. Ability to develop new ideas to improve safety, compliance, efficiency, and cost. A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in a related discipline. Minimum age of 18. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
