Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Summary: Responsible for development, implementation, and coordination of all state legislative programs and practices throughout Central Division. Develops and implements legislative strategies, monitors legislation, and coordinates state association management. Oversees campaign finance and Political Action Committee activity/programs. Directly supervises one or more management and/or senior management employees. Participates with other top leaders to establish division/group/company-wide processes. Core Responsibilities: - Oversees state legislative, executive government and regulatory affairs activity for all states in Central Division - Works as strategic partner with senior management team to accomplish business goals - Acts as liaison between commercial sales team and government entities - Provides guidance and support at all management levels to ensure consistent and sound state government policy and enhance communication with state officials - Collaborates with senior management and State Government Affairs personnel to develop and implement strategies that shape public policy regarding proposed legislative and regulatory initiatives. - Develops and maintains relationships with government representatives and regulators at the federal, state, and local level. Travels to attend meetings, hearings, or other events to represent the company. - Drafts, analyzes, and/or presents legislation, amendments, and testimony as necessary. - Monitors state legislative and regulatory activities affecting Company and the cable industry. - Provides leadership and supervision to the State Government professional team, including staffing, performance management, compensation administration, office management, etc. - Manages and oversees industry trade associations and serves on trade association boards - Manages outside counsel, consultants, and lobbyists to implement strategies or initiatives - Manages and oversees campaign finance compliance and PAC activity - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned - Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance - Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary Education Level: Bachelor's Degree/Advanced degree preferred Experience: Generally requires 15 years related experience Experience in managing staff and remote employees required Compliance: is an EEO/AA/Drug Free Workplace.
