Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Main Responsibilities Implements strategic objectives, underwriting strategies and best practices with substantial impact on the short-term success of the construction industry segment. Evaluates industry segment underwriting performance based on financial analysis. Includes rate, reserve adequacy, operational, planning and product reviews. Provide guidance and solutions within industry segment management and their teams. Ensures the achievement of continued profitability, growth and/or operational efficiencies for this industry segment through assessment of risk tolerance, market appetite and emerging risk issues. Evaluate jurisdictional and statutory impacts on strategic objectives within industry segment and company s strategic plan. To take lead responsibility for the development of strategies and position papers for emerging issues assigned related to this industry segment. To ensure business is being thoroughly evaluated and that risks written adhere to company underwriting standards and authority limits. To assist management and their teams within the industry segment in support, coaching and training to develop and maximize skillsets. Ability to develop and modify policy wordings including conducting red pen sessions with legal and state filings. Manage process of filing to system implementation. Additional Responsibilities To operate as an effective team member by supporting colleagues and contributing in the delivery and achievement of overall team and business objectives. Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations. Work with relevant and associated areas and groups within the business matrix to establish, support and maintain business relationships and organizational effectiveness. Where applicable ensure company, market and client related documentation is issued (internally and externally) accurately and on time. Contribute and work with internal committees as appropriate. Participate when required in applicable professional industry events. Open Date 5/19/2016 Position Requirements In-depth technical knowledge of the construction insurance industry, its products and services. of underwriting theories and practices within the insurance field. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners. Leadership and management skills, demonstrating integrity and professionalism. Ability to industry segment identifying, and resolving problems within scope of responsibility. Minimum of 10 years of Multiline P&C and Construction insurance industry related work and management experience Experience in admitted and non-admitted underwriting practices and procedures. Strong knowledge of primary and excess casualty and coverage. Strong knowledge of coverage forms Familiar with ISO based and/or proprietary rating plans. Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Associated classes or courses and/or industry license or designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) roles.
