Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Responsibilities: You will work in the innovative and collaborative Patent Center, which prepares and prosecutes patent applications within a broad range of technologies, including, for example, technologies pertaining to cloud, cognitive computing, analytics, mobile, social, and security. In addition to writing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications in the USPTO, the role may also comprise assisting in the development of best practices for doing such patent procurement work, and assisting and mentoring others in the Patent Center. Communicating directly with inventors, and with Patent Attorneys, Agents, Engineers, and Administrative Professionals both inside and outside of the Patent Center. You should have strong organization, writing, and communication skills to both write and prosecute patent applications with high quality and efficiency. Required Technical and Professional Expertise B.S. or B.E. degree and qualified to sit for the USPTO Registration Exam. Preferred Tech and Prof Experience Preferred technical backgrounds/degrees include: Computer Science; Computer Systems Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Information Technology; Chemistry; Chemical Engineering, Biology; Materials Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Physics; or Another science or engineering field with significant course work in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or Physics. The preferred candidate will be registered to practice with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
