Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Los Angeles to apply background and experience in network security, firewalls, load balancing, design and troubleshooting, and Internet environments to provide data network design work, implementation, documentation, and troubleshooting with particular focus on firewalls, security, and network forensics for the Enterprise Media Framework Team. Responsible for technical management of advanced networking hardware and circuits. Provide network services support to application developers, end users and other operational personnel. Provide group design and product recommendations and configurations. Resolve client business network problems through research, network installation and customization, network administration and network management support. These systems are used worldwide for multiple Business Units (BU) to deliver both television and theatrical content with extremely tight SLAs. Work closely with these BUs, both with their technical support teams as well as their managers and executives, to bring resilient, scalable designs and quick resolutions to any network challenges that may arise. Responsible for all technical aspects of network implementations with design guidance from the corporate network engineering team in Los Angeles. Specific duties include: 1) Provide local and wide area network and network security support responsibilities which include acting as subject matter expert on network security and firewall policy analysis, QA, and review; responsible for the operation and maintenance of s datacenter firewalls; performing network and security hardware and software maintenance; ensuring that standards are maintained for firewalls and other network edge device version updates & patches; interfacing with vendors and partners to ensure security is maintained and integrated into all network connectivity activities; producing and interpreting network security analysis reports; teaming with Enterprise Security Services to implement and operate security policies and procedures; and providing, on an as-needed basis, 4th level escalation for network outages and application troubleshooting. 2) Network design responsibilities which include consulting with customers to identify data and network security requirements; preparing and updating network security documentation; designing and configuring network security implementations; and assessing new and relevant networking and security technologies. 3) Design review responsibilities which include maintaining security design requirements documentation with accurate SCDS information; participating as a Subject Matter Expert in architectural and security design reviews; and making recommendations on existing projects to improve network security. 4) Administration duties which include communicating security plans, status and security issues to management on a regular basis; reporting security activities through time tracking system; mentoring other network engineers with security best practices; participating in project and activity tracking processes; participating in the change control process; and continuously updating and improving skills and networking knowledge through training and self-study. 5) Production support duties which include serving as an escalation point for network and security issues within IT; and performing other duties as required. Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering or a related field (will accept a three-year or four-year Bachelors degree) and 5 years of IT security engineering or related experience in network security engineering and administration, including designing and managing complex global enterprise networks; and working with firewalls (Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco), and enterprise routing protocols including EIGRP, OSPF and BGP. Experience must include (3) years of managing large datacenter networks, and working with Cisco Nexus switches (7k, 6k, 5k and 2k) and routers, and F5 load balancers.
