Job Responsibilities and Requirements: As an Intern with Markit, you will undertake work on a real business project intended to add value to your team as well as provide you with a great learning opportunity. Overview of the Software Engineering function: Works with colleagues in business, sales, and customer support areas to discover and capture the high-level requirements necessary for a project. Researches and builds prototypes to evaluate potential technologies and approaches to delivering the required functionality. Works with other developers and subject matter experts on an agile team to incrementally specify, design, and deliver new features throughout the project, regularly demonstrating progress to key stakeholders. Role Requirements: To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should demonstrate the following education, skills and experience The ability to work to deadlines and prioritize a complex workload Strong analytical, verbal and presentation skills The ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues and customers Experience with one or more of the following (there are several projects we would like to have an intern work on, so any one or more of these): Designing, training, and deploying deep learning networks Open-source and/or big data technologies such as Spark, Parquet, Redshift, Quicksight, Superset, Druid, Athena, or Impala Modern front-end JavaScript development Backend JVM development using Scala or Java 2018 Summer Intern.
