Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Leads projects and teams, coordinating the planning, development and production of communications. Serves as a Communications senior representative, providing strategic guidance, identifying effective tactics and evaluating results. Develops and implements communication plans proactively and as requested. Includes recommending communication objectives, key messages, strategies, timing and specific channels and incorporating analytics and measurement for results. Provides communication consulting and training services to internal clients and staff proactively and as requested. Develops and produces the company s corporate responsibility report, meeting GRI qualifications Assists in managing content for intranet site, including developing and posting new content. Develops and manages the production of a wide variety of communication materials, including newsletters, articles, presentations, speeches, videos, emails, intranet articles, brochures, posters, digital signage, etc. Serves as editor of internal emails, including organizational announcements, safety messages, benefits announcements and leadership messages. Adept at communicating complex information that is easily consumed. Develops and implements internal events. Delivers projects on time and on budget. Implements best practices and improves processes and deliverables proactively. Collaborates with graphic designers to produce attractive and effective communication materials. Reports job status and hours worked. Keeps track of project dollars spent against the Communications and/or client budgets, as required. Serves as a coach and mentor to Communications and Community Relations department team members and interns. Education: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Experience: Requires a minimum of 7 years experience in communications with strong, proven experience in writing, editing, client relations, and managing communication projects from planning to completion. Additional Knowledge, Skills, Licenses/Certifications, Abilities & Personal Characteristics: Able to conduct research, write effectively in a variety of styles and formats, and work independently. Able to think, plan and communicate strategically. Able to create and implement strategic communication plans and select the most appropriate tactics. Able to define objectives and measure outcomes of communication plans. Able to manage the implementation of new process, procedures or service. Able to demonstrate effective project management and time management to meet project deadlines and remain within budget. Able to motivate self, accomplish tasks and achieve goals with minimal supervision including self-directed learning. Able to adapt quickly to changing demands and to demonstrate flexibility in the face of change or uncertainty. Able to demonstrate a client/customer service focus and the ability to establish and maintain positive and professional working relationships. Able to develop speeches and presentations for senior executives. Able to work and/or interact with all levels of the organization. Able to lead or serve as member of project teams, listen carefully to understand various points of view, find common ground, build consensus and gain cooperation. Able to operate with diplomacy and in a direct way as appropriate, face difficult situations, negotiate skillfully and secure concessions without damaging relationships. Able to use oral and written communication skills with persuasive capabilities in a variety of styles and formats. Able to manage multiple projects concurrently and to prioritize according to business needs. Able to operate as a self-starter; demonstrate initiative to start, develop and complete projects and work effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining appropriate communication. Able to demonstrate knowledge of Web-based and electronic communication. Able to demonstrate general knowledge of the utility industry and related issues. Able to provide a valid state driver s license, present and maintain a good driving record and operate company or personal vehicles and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
