Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This position, Director, Database Management will lead all datacube activity for modeling and attribution projects. A successful candidate is highly skilled in all aspects of database management, big data processing, and cloud computing. This person has an entrepreneurial spirit, ability to challenge the status quo, and has a flexible approach to understanding advanced analytics. The Director, Database Management will establish and maintain the highest standards of data quality and integration adapting as new data sources become available. The role is fully integrated into modeling teams and will scale up and automate the data collection efforts for a premier global engagement while also driving standardization across all modeling clients. Essential Functions Own responsibility for managing the data warehousing/analytics cube for large global client and will be the go to person for analyst support for all other analytics clients. Ensure data quality and hygiene. Diagnose complex processes, simplify and document. Develop deep understanding of data sources, granularity, availability, and limitations. Maintain compliance with contractual agreements with third party suppliers. Prepare documentation, and reporting/presentation materials as appropriate. Integrate with Mediabrands data architecture experts and IT, ensure new technologies and best practices are employed. Manage relationships with global team members including media planners and internal/external clients. Develop understanding of how modeling works and what planners and clients require in order to make business decisions. Qualifications Education: Degree in computer science, mathematics, management science, engineering, economics, operations research or related Graduate degree is a plus Work Experience: 7 years of experience working with databases preferred Skills: Strong grasp of traditional SQL database approaches. Strong grasp of AWS infrastructure. Experience with Python and command line. Understanding of how Tableau and connections to other visualization and reporting tools work. Experience working with off-shore hub teams ideal. Experience with media/marketing data a plus. Ability to work independently or collaboratively with strong time management and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills (professional and technical), track record of working directly with clients. Travel: Position is based in NYC Candidate must be open to occasional travel as needed, including internationally.
