Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The VP will be responsible for leading efforts to successfully exceed annual fundraising goals established and approved by the Foundation s Executive Board. The VP will lead fundraising for their assigned areas in the Central Florida Division and manage their own major gift portfolio with the expectation of personally generating $2 million or more per year in philanthropic gifts. The VP of Philanthropy will recruit physicians, community leaders, philanthropists, business leaders to serve Florida Hospital Foundation on Boards, and/or other volunteer activities to raise funds and awareness in the community for Florida Hospital programs and services. The VP for Philanthropy will actively manage a major gift portfolio to raise philanthropic dollars in addition to managing assigned Foundation Boards and Foundation staff. VP will serve on the Foundation Presidents Leadership Cabinet and participate in strategic planning, campaign planning philanthropic goal setting and portfolio management to drive top quartile performance for the Central Florida Division of the Florida Hospital Foundation. Specific job duties include: Provides leadership to continue a high quality, cost efficient and integrated philanthropic program within the assigned Institute(s) across the Central Florida Division to achieve top quartile performance for Foundation based on Association of Healthcare Philanthropy Benchmarking. Participates with key Hospital Administrators and Physician leaders in Strategic Planning Process to ensure fundraising priorities are aligned with the key initiatives of the Institute(s). Successfully manages a portfolio of major philanthropic donors using the Core Process to generate $2 million or more per year to support the Institute(s) assigned. Maintain long-term relationships with local and national potential major gift donors including philanthropic Foundation leaders, corporate executives, community leaders and Florida Hospital Executives. Builds and maintains a strong volunteer Foundation Board to raise awareness and funds to support the institute and ensures 100% giving for all Board Members. Boards should include physicians, community leaders and philanthropists. Provide mentorship and training to the development professionals by modeling the way and utilizing national best practices in fundraising. Serves on Foundation President s Leadership Cabinet and provides knowledge and expertise to elevate fundraising performance to match nationally leading programs in Children s, Cancer and Cardiovascular treatment areas. Experience Requirements: Minimum of ten (10) years in progressively responsible fundraising work with successful campaign fundraising in a hospital, hospital system, academic medical institution or higher education. Educational Requirements: Master s degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, Social Sciences, Nonprofit Management or equivalent experience. Knowledge and Skills Required: Knowledge of fundraising best practices, writing and organizing a case for support and campaign planning and execution. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively express ideas and views through public speaking, presentations, reports, and professional correspondence with specialization in pledge agreements and solicitation follow up letters. Exceptional people management, leadership skills, and the capacity to relate to people in a manner that wins confidence, builds trust and establishes support. Strategic vision and thinking. Ability to position the organization for the future, looking beyond the present situation to conceptualize key trends and identify viable fundraising opportunities. Strong business acumen, emotional intelligence, and capacity; able to think strategically and implement tactically.
