Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Summary Provides data acquisition, analysis, and modeling of short-term economic trends in the oil industry. Supports commercial and other business stakeholders through fundamental analysis that will lead to informed business and trading decisions. Provides analytical input of global, domestic, and regional assessments for the monthly forecast cycle. Responsibilities Develops economic models for short term trends, forecasts, and outlooks relating to the development of strategic guidance for the corporation. Acquires and maintains external and internal information and resources to develop market intelligence and insights into regional supply/demand issues and knowledge of market fundamentals. Gathers, analyzes and consolidates a wide range of market and economic information relating to the oil industry and the broader economy to provide a basis for future outlooks. These include government and industry publications, news services, price discovery services, consultant and other subscription services, internal knowledge, and other sources of market information. Acts as a liaison between stakeholders in short term price (120-Day plan) forecast development to obtain consensus. Facilitates cross-functional meetings. Researches and analyzes market fundamentals and industry intelligence to support commercial agreements, physical and paper trades, and pricing strategies. Contributes to the Short Term Market Outlook presentation that informs senior management on fundamental trends and provides price forecasts on cracks and crude differentials. Requirements Minimum undergraduate in accounting, finance, economics, engineering, business administration or related discipline required. Minimum 5 years financial or business analysis required. Minimum 3 years industry analysis required. Strong analytical skills, such as obtaining pertinent information and developing effective models Solid understanding of key business drivers Strong oral and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Corporation.
