Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The successful candidate will be comfortable being a public face of equally at ease working in the background to support senior executives or other partners when it is more appropriate for them to represent the company. In addition to the critical, externally focused skills, the new EVP must be capable of being a success internally. He/She must have the organizational acumen necessary to thrive in a cross-functional role in the highly-matrixed and global culture. He/She must have the executive presence and interpersonal skills to work effectively with executives and others at all levels across the company. The new EVP must be a true team player and coordinator/collaborator, able to partner effectively with a broad spectrum of people at, ranging from top global executives, to professionals in the legal and compliances areas. This person will develop a strategic plan for the company and its executives to play a role with policymakers and other constituencies, including cultivating and maintaining effective relationships with key influencers. The new EVP must have strong management and leadership skills. This person must excel at matching talent with the company s needs, ensuring that the right people are in the right jobs. He/She must be able to cultivate and lead teams of highly effective and motivated people, including translating complex and nuanced public policy goals into actionable objectives. In addition, he/she must be a player/coach, very capable of doing the hard work on this small team, rather than one who simply wants to delegate.
