Job Responsibilities and Requirements: As a Patent Paralegal, you will: Provide patent attorney(s) support in all phases of the patent prosecution process, including preparation and electronic filing of patent application filing papers, restriction requirements, information disclosure statements, shell responses to office actions, issue fee payments, application and patent file wrapper reviews and certificates of correction, all with superior attention to detail and little attorney supervision. Communicate with outside Counsel (including local agents in countries such as Israel), Domestic and International Affiliate Business Partners (including directly with inventors in Israel), Patent Offices, and others as needed with little or no attorney supervision. Preparing comprehensive reports of research results and patent activity for attorney review including serving as the patent groups point paralegal for all patent activity originating at the Technology Center in Israel and assisting in the compilation of CSS patent group reporting requirements. This includes close coordination with in-house patent attorneys, outside counsel, patent liaisons, and the patent paralegals supporting the CSS patent group. Exhibit extensive knowledge of Patent Department docket management tools, or the ability to learn, databases such as First-to-File, Attorney Work Bench and Memotech, and demonstrate superior ability to generate reports and effectively manage attorney docket utilizing these tools. Demonstrate ability to analyze and resolve complex legal and procedural issues and provide value-added analysis and recommendations with minimal attorney supervision. This includes extensive experience facilitating invention review process and inventor-attorney engagement. Demonstrate ability to proactively and independently carry out afore-mentioned activities while producing exceptional work-product and managing an above average workload. Exhibit commitment to the Patent Law Department through active and unsolicited participation in departmental initiatives, committees and projects. A minimum of an Associate s Degree, a Paralegal certificate/license or equivalent education is required; a Bachelors Degree is a plus. A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience as a Patent Paralegal working with the generation, filing and management of patent applications on a daily basis is required. Demonstrated proficiency in Hebrew (both written and oral communications) is required. Proficiency with PAIR, private PAIR, First to File, and patent database searching, such as, Thompson Innovation database searching is preferred. Database systems experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) is required. The ability to work independently, maintain a high degree of confidentiality and interface effectively with inventors, attorneys, other patent professionals and the USPTO is required. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required. The ability to set priorities and work under pressure to meet time deadlines is required.
