Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This technical field support role includes responsibility for ensuring that both the preliminary design and the final validation of completed work are in alignment with contractual obligations and regulatory guidelines. Interacting with team members and focus on quality and safety are primary drivers of each day s work effort. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Experienced in Make Ready design and Construction for fiber optic cable onto utility power poles; Technical knowledge and understanding of right of way and easements is required; Advanced knowledge of aerial construction, including span lengths, pole loading, anchoring, guying, and attachment heights, as well as familiarity with joint use regulations are all a plus; Position requires the capability to manage subordinate project personnel; Attend company and Client status meetings; Must have experience in power pole make ready design and construction, materials and the costs associated with MR construction and power pole replacements; Must have an in depth knowledge of National Electric Safety code (NESC) and pole loading analysis; Must have an in depth knowledge of pole loading analysis data collecting techniques; Must be able to read, decipher and understand various power company schematic diagrams and construction drawings; Must understand Power Company s material ordering systems and other variations of material ordering systems; Candidate will be required to evaluate a large number of problematic power poles and various situations from multiple sources and make a determination of the problem and provide a solution and resolution; Candidate must be familiar with National databases i.e. NJUNS and others; Candidate must be familiar with third party attachers and must provide solutions and guidance for re-positioning of third party attachers on a pole; Candidate will be required to mentor and train less experienced personnel. REQUIREMENTS 5 years OSP construction experience and 2 years direct telecommunications experience in the area of MR; Candidates should have 3 years of supervisory construction experience; Adaptability and resourcefulness are essential qualities required to ensure safe, compliant and efficient utilization of the subject poles; Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing; Excellent customer and client service skills; Strong capabilities in analysis and problem solving; Must to enthusiastic and driven to excellence; A strong team builder with the ability to motivate others to strive for and exceed project obligations and expectations; Demonstrated ability to work with diverse personnel and supporting functional department with a strong understanding of the make ready construction and engineering functions from planning to delivery; Understanding drawings, permits and specifications relevant to the fiber, cellular, and/or cable industry; Computer literate, knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power point) and Adobe; Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline. PREFERENCES MasTec prefers, but does not require, that candidates have experience in the local area; Bi-lingual English and Spanish.
