Job Responsibilities and Requirements: We are looking for a lawyer to join our Intellectual Property department. Staff Counsel responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing legal advice and counsel on a wide range of issues relating to patents and technology related to intellectual property Handling and/or managing patent portfolio related activities, as well as outside counsel in connection with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications Interacting closely with internal business units, and coordinate work with other attorneys within the Office of General Counsel Providing advice and counsel regarding issues related to FCA s management of patent and intellectual property assets Basic Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering A minimum of 3 years of significant experience involving patent preparation, prosecution, and clearance opinions Registered (in good standing) to practice before the U.S. Patent Trademark Office Preferred Qualifications: Effective oral and written communications skills Possess excellent analytical, organizational and strategic thinking skills Experience with automotive related technology Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse cross functional teams Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to critical deadlines.
