Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Technical Advisor II provides GIS, GWD, CAD, and general sketching business process ownership and support to Gas Operations objectives and operations. Develops, interprets, and implements business process solutions that assist with decision making, policy formulation, operational efficiencies and enhancements. Using analytical and technical techniques to help managers and supervisors make better decisions and solve problems. Develop business solutions by incorporating systems, software, and business processes to be used by functional organizations to optimize operations. Selected individual will or have: Provide as needed refresher training and workshops to Gas Operations personnel (PPA, Planner, POC, Mapping, and Supervision) in the areas of SAP, GIS/GWD, GWD Workflow Manager, and GIS Session Manager. Displays GIS Mapping Standards knowledge for both medium and high pressure. Ability to work closely with GIS Mapping, GIS/GWD Technical Support, and ESS to identify, develop, test, and communicate GWD enhancements Provide GWD Training. material updates/changes and job aids to Pico Centralized Training Focus on GWD planning design and process support, standard template implementation, policies, gas standard maintenance Liaison between Field Operations, GIS, Pipeline Integrity, Gas Engineering, and ESS/GIS Develop, tracks, and maintains GWD Reporting, Stored Displays, and GIS/GWD Palettes. Coordinate GIS/GWD backlog tracking and facilitates bi-weekly status updates Maintain and Update GWD Website with bulletins, process changes, job aids, and general GIS/GWD information. Ensure material updates and jobs aids are provided to the Pico Training Team Provide as needed Refresher sessions to Region and POC Training Collaborate with business clients, vendor partners and other SoCalGas, Analytics, Mapping, Standard/Policy, and IT groups to develop and implement solutions to complex business and technical problems. Analyze information to conceptualize and define operational problems. Evaluates results to develop the best solution. Works with subject matter experts and auditors to identify business problems and process gaps. Work with subject matter experts to develop business processes, job aids, communications, and/or milestones to mitigate problems and conflicting objectives. Develops descriptive analytic reports and predictive analytic models Perform validation and testing of system GIS/GWD enhancements to ensure adequacy and usability as necessary. Work with business clients, vendor partners and other SoCalGas Analytics, and IT groups to implement system enhancements into production systems and business processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives, policies and strategies. Provide guidance and expert advice on technical, systems, or process-related topics. Work with subject matter experts to refine system design requirements by facilitating process and system workshops. Observe, receive, validate and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources. Study and analyze information about alternative courses of action and reports to determine which plan will offer the best outcomes. Translate and explain to stakeholders in what information means and how it can be used Prepare management reports defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions. Use sketching/planning applications and systems to develop templates, stored displays, set up functions, enter data, and process information Keep up-to-date technically, documents process/procedures, and applies new knowledge to your job. External Qualifications: This position may be filled at a different level based on the expertise of the candidate Bachelors required. ( Advanced degree highly desirable) in technical/analytical discipline, e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Engineering, Management Science, Decision Sciences, Accounting, GWD, SAP, GIS, Click Schedule, Click Mobile, CAD or other technical/analytical degree. Knowledge and use of SAP, GIS, GWD, Microsoft Office tools (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher), and CAD software. Experience in data analysis, project management, and Pipeline Distributions end to end processes. Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire and utilize new technical and business knowledge Demonstrated ability to develop effective business relationships with colleagues, managers and stakeholders. Collaborates effectively to find solutions to complex technical problems with peers and other organizations.
