Job Responsibilities and Requirements: You will work closely in teams consisting of Operations, Technology, Design, EHS, and Procurement personnel to ensure the safe and effective implementation of plant expansion, process debottlenecking, and infrastructure improvement projects. Formula for Success: You Will - Develop project scope, generate and/or obtain cost estimates, and prepare appropriation funding requests; ensure appropriate project safety reviews are completed as required, both before and after approval; utilize applicable value-improving practices (VIPs) to optimize project scope and costs. - Seek compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements, and promote a safe working environment for project execution. - Develop and maintain partnerships with assigned project manufacturing representatives to execute projects from initial scoping and funding, through detailed engineering and procurement, to startup and commissioning, to final documentation and closure. - Request and coordinate required process and design engineering and design resources, whether from the site, corporate groups, or outside engineering vendors; prepare engineering design deliverables and procure equipment, fabricated materials, and services. - Adhere to current corporate and plant requirements for equipment/materials specifications and vendor preferences. - Maintain SAP project data entries, monitor project progress through scheduling and other tools, perform project status reporting, and control spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments. - Perform procurement activities as required, including preparing specifications, issuing requisitions, evaluating bids, and dealing with vendors; work with Procurement and complies with applicable guidelines. - Request necessary construction and commissioning resources from Construction and others as required to install the scope of work. - Monitor and support construction activities to ensure that projects are completed according to the design deliverables, quality standards, and plant requirements, and that pre-startup safety reviews are conducted. - Follow-through to ensure Operations achieves a successful project startup, and that any project-related action items are completed. - Close projects per guidelines, and ensure proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and requirements. - Promote identification of lessons learned from completed projects to improve work practices. - Participate and contribute on engineering discipline teams via ad hoc assignments with other Site and North American engineers to review, update, and develop project management procedures, guidelines, standards, and practices. - Mentor and coach less-experienced engineers, including participants in the Professional Development Program. QUALIFICATIONS - RECOGNIZES INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION WHICH ARE ACCREDITED BY THE COUNCIL FOR HIGHER EDUCATION ACCREDITATION OR EQUIVALENT Ingredients for Success: We Look for in You - Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil; in lieu of an Engineering degree, a degree in Engineering Technology or Construction Management will be considered, with demonstrated experience in project management and/or execution. - A minimum of 7 years of experience in a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment. - In-depth knowledge of industry relevant codes and standards. - Cross-disciplinary knowledge of civil, piping, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation disciplines. - Demonstrated knowledge of project management processes and project execution best practices is a plus. - Strong analytical thinking, entrepreneurial acting, influencing, leadership, and communication skills This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
