Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Responsibilities Apply econometric and statistical methods in analyzing data collected through the PCAOB oversight activities, including risk-based inspection samples. Perform technical reviews of in-house economic analysis and research to ensure that suitable procedures have been correctly applied to data. Contribute to economic analysis of PCAOB standards and rules, including by reviewing external research. Develop and provide internal econometrics training courses to staff economists Identify and conduct research on matters that can inform the oversight activities of the PCAOB in protecting investors, including research suitable for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Work with outside experts in academia and industry to further strengthen the PCAOB s understanding of auditing and its impact in capital markets. Work closely with staff from other offices within the PCAOB and from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to facilitate ERA s work. Requirements Qualifications Ph.D. in economics, statistics, or a related discipline. Expertise in econometric theory. Actively performing research related to sample selection bias, semiparametric estimation, or machine learning. Knowledge of corporate finance preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
