Job Responsibilities and Requirements: In this role, you will uphold and promote the ethical standards and core values of UCSF; build and manage a portfolio of donors engaged in gift and estate planning conversations with an emphasis on principal gift opportunities at the $1M and above level; create and implement a strategic marketing plan for planned giving; maintain oversight of the gift planning donor pipeline, including those managed by other development professionals; provide support to the Vice Chancellor, Associate Vice Chancellor, Assistant Vice Chancellors and development professionals to promote and execute complex gift and estate plans; developing and implementing the planned giving portion of UCSF: The Campaign in coordination with the Vice Chancellor; serve as a resource on items including complex gift and/or endowment agreements, interpretation of policies, and coordination with outside legal counsel when necessary; and provide staff support and guidance. Required Qualifications Juris Doctorate degree from an American Bar Association-accredited institution Minimum 10 years experience in estate planning and/or planned giving roles of increasing responsibility Advanced knowledge of design and implementation of identification, cultivation and solicitation strategies and techniques Advanced skills to conceive, design, implement and evaluate effective fundraising programs Advanced knowledge of leadership and management principles, concepts, techniques, etc. Knowledge of the campus and / or medical center, its achievements, vision, mission, goals, objectives and issues of concern both on campus and / or medical center as well as in higher education, research and medical care or clinical operations Advanced leadership / management skills, including skills to select, training, mentor, motivate and evaluate all levels of staff Advanced written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationship within all organizational levels and with outside constituencies Advanced skills to meet predetermined goals and objectives, including securing gifts and meeting fundraising objectives Advanced political acumen skills Advanced strategic planning, critical thinking, analytical and negotiation skills Note: Fingerprinting and background check required.
