Company Global Government Affairs is looking to hire a Senior Vice President for international government affairs to work with the DC based international team. The candidate would have primary responsibility for Africa, working with Company Country Officers who manage over 16 countries in Africa and Company business units to identify policy issues and engage with US and foreign government officials, embassies, clients and trade associations to advance a policy agenda. This candidate would also support other DC colleagues to help cover Latin America, Asia and Europe as required. This position would report to the Managing Director, Head of International Government Affairs in Washington, DC. Job Responsibilities: Work with business and country leaders to identify policy issues and as required, develop and implement a government affairs strategy to achieve the objectives identified; Establish and maintain relationships with relevant US government officials and DC-based foreign government officials; Represent Company in relevant trade and business associations, think tanks and other NGOs; Identify and access trends that will impact Company operations in the regionals or country; Lead on multijurisdictional, regional or other country-specific issues and assist other International Government affairs members in regions and countries with their issues; Support regional and country heads in DC before US government or DC-based foreign governments as needed; Arrange meetings and prepare briefings for senior Company officials','! ! Undergraduate degree required; post-graduate degree desirable; Minimum of 8 years of experience either as a full time government relation s expert or prior government experience working with key foreign and US government stakeholders. Experience within Africa preferred. Experience managing projects and issues requiring direct interaction of US government officials, Members of Congress and the NGO and business community.
