Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Key responsibilities include: Leading and developing a diverse large national team of field managers and interviewers capable of successfully completing a variety of data collection tasks to ensure timely project completion. Provide leadership and oversight of all recruiting and training for field interviewers. Working with Project Directors, Regional Managers, and HR to determine staffing needs by geographic location and project specific skills set while ensuring staff diversity and government compliance. Field Operations develops and delivers general training, and works with projects to schedule and provide appropriate project training using a variety of methods. Develop strategies to plan for long term individual and organizational development for Field Staff. Provide leadership and general management for field data collection activities. Projects vary in geographic location, size and number of staff needed. Monitoring funds and spending to stay within budget and on schedule. Promotes innovation and efficiency in all department operations and encourages standardization of processes, and ease of information exchange on projects. Establishes and maintains good relationships with the research departments, administrative departments, and support departments. Interacts with individuals at all levels, including: clients, respondents, and senior and executive level management throughout the company. Maintain a culture that supports the importance and respect for data, including processes, integrity and adherence to policies and procedures, innovation and collaboration. Required Skills Bachelor s degree required (Masters Degree preferred) At least 10 years of high level operations management experience related to data collection Proven record with multi-location leadership experience in the following areas: research, strategic planning, people management, budget development, and communications/stakeholder outreach Strong interpersonal communication skills both in person and on the telephone Knowledge of the principles, processes, and methods of survey research through experience in field research Deep understanding of data collection operations, including knowledge of competitors and government operations, and academic research organizations Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Understanding of field sampling procedures Strong skills in problem and conflict resolution and the ability to handle multiple, conflicting responsibilities Skills in the use of computer software, including Microsoft Office, survey programs and knowledge of a case management system Familiarity with industry related software, such as SPSS, SAS, and other data analysis software Ability to quickly grasp new computer systems Ability to evaluate cost and production data and take appropriate action when necessary Ability to quickly offer solutions to data collection questions during field period Strong skills in time management, personal organization, and setting of priorities to meet all project needs in a timely fashion. Willingness and ability to travel to trainings and meetings nationally (approx. 15-25% travel.).
