Job Responsibilities and Requirements: As a senior member of the team, initiate and manage some of the largest and most complex investments and client relationships, as well as smaller local and regional organizations. Demonstrate superior credit skills for underwriting new deals, renewals, modifications, and problem asset management. Effectively interface with senior Bank credit officers, lawyers, co-lenders, and other internal and external parties in sourcing, structuring, and approving deals Work closely with Loan Administration team in the closing, funding, and monitoring of deals. Execute within and support s credit culture, which requires extensive due diligence ranging from analysis of financial performance, portfolio performance, and management, to risk identification and mitigation. Maintain full responsibility for ongoing portfolio management, including timely receipt of customer reporting and monthly, quarterly, and annual internal monitoring and reporting. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing CDFI/housing clients and prospects, including providing technical assistance to both prospects and customers where appropriate. Develop a clear and holistic understanding of a customer s or prospect s business and financing needs. Identify other product opportunities and partner with other product specialists to structure, coordinate and sponsor other non-credit products/services. Enjoy working in relationship management teams with a proven understanding of the importance of balancing business development, asset quality, and community reinvestment needs. Make presentations at conferences and other external meetings. Serve on community boards and professional organizations which enhance the profile of CLI. Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements. Required Qualifications: 8+ years of portfolio management experience Desired Qualifications: Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) investment field experience; including low income housing tax credits, real estate and private equity investments, and CRA regulations Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions Experience investigating/analyzing sensitive and complex commercial credit and risk issues Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment Ability to work independently, proactively, innovatively, and creatively while exercising sound judgment Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Extensive knowledge and understanding of current market conditions in terms of pricing, terms, conditions, and covenants as well as legal structure and documentation Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills Management experience.
