Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Operations Manager - Construction (OM) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, focusing on managing the risk of the company and overseeing the construction projects. The OM is also responsible for the profitable financial management of the construction projects, and oversees the direction, supervision and coordination of the Construction Project Managers and Construction Superintendents. The OM position requires many skill sets including working with computer programs, interfacing with employees, clients & subcontractors, and an application of extensive construction knowledge based on candidate's experience as well as unified systems developed by Deacon. Basic duties and responsibilities of an Operations Manager - Construction Involvement with the marketing effort of the company Monitor and help maintain relationships with owners and architects Assist the estimating department when needed with preconstruction planning including monitoring plan design development, plan reviews, constructability reviews, plan distribution, sub coverage, bid schedules, permit procurement, scope coverage, staffing requirements and General Conditions Assist the safety department in implementation and management of overall safety program and efforts Assisting the General Manager/ Risk Manager with management of claims Provide oversight during the construction process to ensure that Deacon procedures are being followed, including: long lead analysis, start-up paperwork (contracts, shop drawings, submittal), documentation, notifications (extras, back charges, supplementation), budget maintenance, safety measures, environmental controls, field paperwork monitoring, cash flow monitoring, timely change order process, punch list completion, close out package submission Review and familiarize project team of owner contract provisions Review buyout with Project Manager Review margin analysis reports with Project Manager Review subcontract Exhibit A - Scope of Work with Project Manager Review subcontractor changes to subcontracts with Project Manager Review master schedule with Superintendent and Project Manager Evaluation of hiring and dismissal of company employees including the positions of Project Engineer, Project Assistant, Project Manager, Project Coordinator and Superintendent, Foreman, Carpenter and Laborer Review company personnel (same positions as noted above) on annual basis for bonus performance and salary Assist with recruiting efforts that coincide with hiring of new employees (career fairs, colleges, etc.).
